Get To Know Denise
How long have you been part of the Kennedy Care family?
I have been with Kennedy Care for about 2 1/2 years.
Why did you choose to join Kennedy Care?
I was not seeking employment. I was in private care and the VA contacted the home I was working in and asked them to use an agency they recommended instead. After daily calls she relented, but only if I could be the caregiver. I was hired over the phone by Kennedy Care. It is a privilege to care for Veterans each day, especially after they were willing to give everything.
What is your favorite memory from working with Kennedy Care?
My favorite memory is when I went to get my patient up, and he informed me it was high time I showed up as he had been torn asunder during the evening hours and the boat was leaking with no one to help bail water! In spite of his confusion due to being 98, he assured me I was still his favorite as I was the only one who was willing to help in these particular situations. Goodness I just loved him.
What are your hobbies?
Gardening is my hobby and I try to walk 2-5 miles a day year round.
What’s your favorite season of the year and why?
I love early autumn.
What’s your favorite holiday and why?
Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday.
Denise deserves an extra special shoutout as she plans to retire this month! She has always been extremely reliable, independent, compassionate, pays attention to detail, follows directions, and gives her clients the best care possible. The PC team will be sad to lose her! We wish her the best of luck in her retirement!
