Sierra Risner
Care Coordinator, Patriot Care
Sierra Risner has joined the Kennedy Care team in a Care Coordinator role. She comes to us with over six years of team management experience. She previously supervised teams as well as created and managed team schedules.
She genuinely enjoys interacting with people and helping them problem-solve. We look forward to getting to know Sierra and having her energetic personality spread joy to our workdays!

This past July, we launched our new Kennedy Care Academy program for our valued caregivers. Additionally, all our caregivers now have a new title: Life Care Professional (LCP).
Through our Kennedy Care Academy, we will be providing LCPs with ongoing training opportunities in advanced healthcare, life skills, and customer service related topics.

| Michael, what do you love about working at Kennedy Care? “I love how when you have a concern or question they are always there, ready to offer help no matter what. I’ve always wanted to work for a company as wonderful as Kennedy Care.” Michael, what do you love about being a Life Care Professional? “I love the connection you make as a life care professional. The joy in client’s faces and the compassion and support the families have for each care professional is why I do this.” Michael, outside of work, are you involved with any special projects or hobbies? “Some hobbies I enjoy are playing cards, anything from Uno to rummy. I enjoy fishing also. Being outdoors is huge for me. I actually recently started rescuing hedgehogs with my wife. It’s amazing and I honestly never thought I would be apart of something like that.” |

- Safe At Home – Timesheets are due within 24 hours of your shift

Patriot Care Updates
Patriot Care has received referrals from the VA in Illinois which means VA’s in other states are starting to notice the great work we do in Michigan!
The Patriot Care online training courses are now complete. Be on the lookout for emails regarding online courses for Patriot Care Life Care Professionals. You will have the opportunity to learn more about Veteran care, military culture, VA expectations, and so much more. And an added bonus…you get paid to complete this training!
Safe At Home Child Care Updates
Safe at Home Child Care is excited to announce the rollout of virtual training. This training will help caregivers expand their knowledge of online learning platforms in an effort to help families navigate virtual learning for their children.
Kennedy Care Diversity, Equity and Inclusion
We are excited to announce Kennedy Care is partnering with Michigan Roundtable to implement an initiative to create an organizational culture of competency and humility. Michigan Roundtable is a non-profit organization based in Detroit whose mission is to “[serve] as a catalyst for change, we develop, organize, and empower individuals and communities to advance equity and opportunity for all.”
Together, Kennedy Care and Michigan Roundtable will be developing a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion assessment for our employees, which we will then use to design instructional cultural competency and learning sessions for both our administrative staff and Life Care Professionals.
We hope to aid in the development of life-long foundational skills that enable us to understand the diverse world around us through open communication, increased self-awareness, and mindfulness of our own as well as others’ behavior.
We look forward to working with Michigan Roundtable on our new initiative!
