Mask Policy Updates

As we continue to care for KC clients during the COVID-19 pandemic, we want to remind you of our strict mask-use policy. As perhaps you’ve seen, there are some mask use guidelines being lifted, but these DO NOT apply to in-home care for our KC clients. We ask that you remain diligent in your mask use by wearing them at all times when in a client’s home, regardless of vaccination status.

Additionally, we ask you to continue to do your part in preventing the spread of infection by maintaining strict handwashing protocols, continuing wipe-downs of high-traffic surfaces,  as well as practicing social distancing when possible. These strict guidelines are Kennedy Care’s policy as well as our referral sources.

Thank you, as always, for the amazing care you provide. We appreciate you keeping our clients, families, and yourself safe and healthy!

Congratulations to Safe At Home’s Ayanna Lawson!

She is the winner of the May t-shirt drawing!

Last chance for the t-shirt giveaway! f you haven’t already, send a photo of your Covid-19 Vaccination Record Card to hr@kennedycare.com to be entered into a drawing for a free KC t-shirt. We’ll select the next winner June 23rd.

HR Updates and Training

The Human Resources team would like you to join us in “Going Purple” to recognize Alzheimer’s and Brain Awareness month, taking place this June. Worldwide, around 50 million people live with Alzheimer’s and other dementias.

We know our Life Care Professionals have close experience providing care for those with Alzheimer’s and other dementias, which is why we have developed a training for you that will be provided by Rebecca Maley, RN, Director of Team Development, in-person at our Ann Arbor office!

The training will cover several aspects of providing care for those living with dementia, including but not limited to: definition and causes of dementia, early warning signs, tips for treatment, reducing frustration, client involvement and providing safe, individualized care.

Please be on the lookout for a broadcast about our next training session, coming soon!

Diversity, Equity and Inclusion

Happy Pride Month! Celebrated annually in the month of June since 1970, Pride initially formed from the 1969 Stonewall Riots in Manhattan and is recognized now in honor of that day. What started as a singular day celebration has turned into a full month of events celebrating and honoring members of the LGBTQIA+ community from the past, present, and future generations.

One of the most notable days in Pride Month is June 26, when same-sex marriage was deemed constitutional by the United States Supreme Court in 2015. Since then, celebrations have boomed and now encompass hundreds of gender identities and sexual orientations, though there is still work to be done across the world to ensure that everyone has a right to express themselves and be who they truly are.

There are several ways you can celebrate Pride Month this year! You may think about attending a pride parade, supporting LGBTQIA+ organizations monetarily, or even just celebrating and showing your support from home. Please view the link here to see more ways you can get involved!

Life Care Professionals of the Month are chosen by their respective teams and each brings amazing caregiving, compassion, and love to our clients and families. Thank you for going the extra mile with your care!
